When taking care of a sick dog, don’t ignore your healthy dog.
If you follow me on twitter, you might know that Mac is sick. On Thanksgiving he awoke nauseated and disoriented. He threw up a few times and would not eat.
Later that night, we took Mac to our vet, who was kind enough to meet us at her office on Thanksgiving. Mac was diagnosed with Old Dog Vestibular.
Since Mac has problems standing, we have been taking him out front to go potty. Normally, we just let the dogs out back since we have a fenced in yard.
Last night, I took Mac out to pee. When I got back inside, Wylie would not look at me. Clearly she was jealous of Mac and shunned me thinking I was giving him preferential treatment.
So I put on Wylie’s leash and took her for a short walk last night. That’s all she needed. Some attention and reassurance that we still love her.
Yes Wylie. We <3 you. We always will girl.
